If you happen to be at the State Dock September 8th -10th, you may notice a lot of boats that don't look like any of our normal houseboat fleet.

That's because the annual Lake Cumberland Poker Run is getting a change of venue this year as State Dock will be the host marina for the big event.

Known for attracting participants from all over the country, the Poker Run has some of the largest, fastest boats you will ever see on any lake.

If you're not familiar with this popular event, it's   time to get you acquainted. The Poker Run is held on an approximate 130 mile course. Each boat entered must make five stops (at other marinas) along the course to pick up a sealed envelope containing a

playing card. Upon completion of the Poker Run, the cards are turned in to the organizers who then open the five envelopes and displays them to all the participants. Prizes are awarded to the top four poker hands.

In the past, this event has even been covered by ESPN. With hundreds of powerboats roaring down the lake at the same time, it's a sight you have to see to believe!

We would love to see everyone for this special weekend. There will be lots of food, days of fun-filled boating, and a party on Saturday night with a live band!
